Carey Haley is a family law attorney and Guardian Ad Litem at Ruppert and Schaefer, PC. Prior to joining Ruppert and Schaefer Carey served as Chief Counsel at Child Advocates, Inc where she worked from 2011 until 2024. She was the Chief Legal Counsel of the Department of Child Services in Marion County and was an attorney there from 2002 until 2011 handing primarily CHINS, Termination of Parental rights, and administrative matters. Carey is the cofounder of the Child Advocacy Clinic at the IU McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis and served as an adjunct professor for the clinic since its creation in 2016 until 2022. She is a 1999 Graduate of DePauw University and a 2002 Graduate of Indiana University McKinney School of Law. She serves as a panelist for the Indiana University School of Medicine ECHO clinics. ECHO is a movement to connect local primary care teams with inter-disciplinary specialist teams to improve treatment for complex and chronic health conditions. She has presented at State and National Conferences. She is the current president for the Indiana Chapter of AFCC, a member of the Marion County Youth Violence Prevention Coalition, a member and past chair of ISBs Children's Rights Committee, and a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children. She is a proud mother of four daughters.
